  • Sound gone even though the sound file can be seen

I transferred PP from windows XP to a new computer using vista. When I played a file that I had been working on I could watch the movie but had no sound even though the sound file can be seen.I checked that the speaker toggle track output symbol was ok. Any suggestions please?

    Try deleting the peak files.

I’ve had this happen to me too, in my case the wav form also disappeared from the timeline leaving me with an ’empty’ audio file.

I deleted the audio file from from my project bins, moved the audio file to a new folder on my drive, then re-imported it and everything worked fine again. It happened several times during different projects and I fixed it like that every time.

Hope it works for you too.
