SOUND EDITING PROGRAMS?
Besides Sony Vegas, what 2 professional sound editing programs are used by Major Motion Picture Studios today?

Pro Tools and probably Logic. I don’t know that Vegas is used all that much for post.

AMS Audiofile is probably the best editor available, but has been out marketed by Pro Tools, Nuendo, Pyramix.

Since the early 90s I used a Sonic Solutions DAW. It was fantastic. Real time, great sound, did sound locked to picture, Mac-based, used common peripherals. But, as we started doing more and more work with studios around the country it became clear that Pro Tools was the system they all used. I finally got tired of explining why I used Sonic and installed a PT HD system. The end result was a lot more business.
