  • Sound and video are not synced when I import tape into Final Cut Pro X

I keep trying to import this tape from my Sony VX 2000 but once it is imported into Final Cut the sound is totally off and the voices don’t match up with the peoples mouths. I have no idea why it is doing this. When I play the tape on my camera everything is perfect and in sync but once I import it into Final Cut there is a delay in the video, I hear the people talk before their mouths even move. It is very frustrating. It doesn’t make sense because this hasn’t happened with any of the other tapes, only this one. And if it is all synced when I watch it on the camera shouldn’t it be the same when I import it? Please get back to me!! It would be much appreciated!! I don’t want to have all this good footage go to waste because the sound is off. Thanks.

Capture in iMovie and the tape should line up.
I have had this problem and solved it by using iMovie to capture.
