sOT: disable auto update, OS X
I was laying back to tape, then all of a sudden the damn auto software update pops up and the layback stops.
No real damage done, other than a waste of time. But it raises the question: how does one disable Apple’s auto-update?

System Preferences>Software Update, “Update Software” Tab, UNCHECK “Check for Updates” box.
