You are not alone.

While on this subject of recalling FXs, I would also like the FX searching facility – yes there is one – to be better actioned, it is slow as frozen molasses.

There is a clumsy PluginManager-option, by making a set of repeated FXs as a Plugins and then applying, but that would drive any previously applied FXs away from the Event. So, again, that isn’t really a solution either.

All this points to me having no confidence of this being improved in the near future, if at all – ever.

Problem solved! … in a round about way. I was reading another post by John Rofrano (Sorry, I cannot find the post again or I would link it). He gave a solution to use the Plug-In Manager to accomplish this.

Make a new folder (I named mine 000 Common, so it would be at the top of the list) and simply drag/drop my commonly used filters in there and drag the container to the main tab. I’ve attached a screenshot of it and it works for me!

Q1: What is your method of dragging to your 000 Common Folder? I’m not getting that as an option.

Q2: Can you then ADD additional FXs to an Event, without the previous ones being removed?

I apologize for taking so long to respond. The response notification went to my junk mail folder.

1. In the docked Plug-In Manager window (it took some trial and error to get it to dock to the main tab panel), I click on Plug-Ins>Video>FX and it lists all my plug-ins and filters.

Then I take the filters I want and drag/drop those into the new “000 Common” folder. It does remove those filters from the FX folder, but I have no problem with that. I have not had a reason to move any back. If I’m missing a reason as to why I should not, please let me know!

2. You can add those filters to any event, but it only adds with the default setting. When the Video Event FX window popups up, I can then use my own presets or tweak it from there. And I’ve added as many filters as I’ve needed with no problems. None have been taken away or overwritten in the plug-in chain.

It works good enough for my needs at this point, but I still hope Sony comes up with a better solution.
