  • Sorrenson Squeeze HELP – I set MPEG2 as 720×480 btu QT shows as 640×480!!

    Hello

I got specs from an agency to make our final spot an MPEG2 with the following specs:

    Mpg2 muxed program stream
Mpg-2 (1 file containing both video and audio)
    Video: 720 X 480, 5 – 8 mbps, 29.97 fps , color space 4:2:0
    Audio: Mpg-1 Layer 2 : 192kbps , 48khz
    Stream type: MPEG-2 MP@ML
    Resolution: 720 x 480
    Aspect ratio: 4:3 Generic
    Framerate: 29.97
    datarate : 5 – 8 mbps, that is bitrate: 5000000 – 8000000 Bit/Sec
    Chroma format: 4:2:0, closed gop
    Size : approx : 38 – 60 MB for 1 minute

The problem is that I set everything exactly as they have listed in squeeze and the resulting QT file comes out as 640×480 – is this because qt pro is displaying it in a weird way or am i actually setting something wrong – i set it to maintain aspect ratio as 720×480 so i dont see what i am doing wrong.

Please someone help i need to make this in the next 30 mins for client posting!!

    Thanks

    Lisa

    You are doing nothing wrong.

720×480 is a non-square pixel resolution (for TV) – the square pixel resolution (for computers) is 640×480.
