I am not sure where else to post this so I will ask it here. Does anyone know if the XDCAM HD “decks” can be controlled like a VTR with RS 422 control and played into a FCP NLE with an AJA I/O via down converted SD-SDI in real time like a tape?

I know it is early but I am trying to narrow down the search for NAB and work flow seems to be the big question.
    Thanks!

They have to. We have a Pioneer PRV-LX1 DVD recorder that will do that very thing so I’m positive the XDCAM decks will do the same. If not, what purpose would they serve?

    Here’s your link:

    https://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/markets/10014/xdcamhd_decks.shtml

There is an XDCAM ad running in this forum that if you click on it and then click again a time or two, it will take to the info that you need.

It seems like you guys are asking here before looking in the most obvious place. We don’t mind helping you out but come on, make a little effort before asking us where to look.

By the way, the deck I pointed out to you has internal up/down convertors built right in.

Who helps you find your keys in the morning?

    Steve,

C’mon give the guys a break.

The creative cow is not google.

The purpose of these forums are to provide information to those willing to ask and from those willing to provide answers.

If you want to start a search engine on your own for those who can’t figure out google then do so.

Maybe you could call it Wargoogle.

And then there’s Tony, who, by the way, is a wealth of information.

    And that was NOT sarcasm.
