  Sony vs. Microsoft DV codec selection

  I admit it, I’m confused. I don’t like Sony’s DV codec because it doesn’t upsample chroma so I choose Microsoft’s in Preferences. When I view my rendered footage chroma looks great but the blacks are crushed and the image is definitely darker than it should be. Vegas doesn’t seem to be able to properly handle Microsoft’s codec and keep the brightness range correct. I know it’s a 0-255 > 16-235 issue, but how to resolve it? Thanks for your input.
