Sony Vegas + XVID = LSD? Video Glitches

The videos play back fine in windows media player/vlc/etc, but when put in vegas they glitch out like they’re on lsd or something. This isn’t just a preview glitch either, I test rendered a small loop region and it came out just like that :/
Any idea whats causing it? And maybe how to fix it?

XVID and Vegas have never been a good combination.
