I asked this in another forum but i think maybe this is the better place for the post:

I am editing some footage that was shot with an android smart phone. as it often happens, some of the footage was shot on a wide screen (phone being held on its side) some was shot vertically (phone held normally). while in editing everything seemed to go fine (expect for some reason i can only see the vertical videos on preview mode not on best), but when it comes to rendering – nothing works! I’ve tried every render option i could think of and always same result – the video that is being render features all the widescreen videos and all the audio but the whenever there is a vertical footage i just get black screen (can still hear the video’s audio though).

Can someone please advise on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Keshet,
I found by myself this rendering setting that can render video vertically.
Go to File -> Render As
Then, open MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.mp4;*.avc) and select Internet HD 1080p
Scroll down and click on Customize Template…
In the Frame size: select (Custom frame size) and write your Width: 1080 and Height: 1920 or any values you need.

Now it should work, at least it did for me, I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 13.0

    finally found the solution!!
I met this problem also, and found that Sony Vegas just didnt render vertical video. So, you just rotate the video 90 degree and save it again to be new file. I suppose to use the program Freemake Video. That’s it!!
