I have a video on my harddrive in format .avi

When i run it in Windows Media player i will have audio + video.
When i run it in Winamp i also have audio + video
But when i add the file to the Project Media in Vgas Pro and i drag and drop the file to my project then the only thing i get is audio: not the video.

So i also only see an audio layer in my project and i don’t get a video layer.

Does someone know why this is and how i can fix it? Thanks

It means you’re not using a compatible codec-video.
What is the codec used to encode the video?
Use GSpot to determine the codec if you can’t see the codec in the video properties.

Sorry this has nothing to do with the current thread, but the timeline cursor in my Vegas 8 has stopped moving during playback in the timeline. I can not grab it to scrub either. The video plays normally but the timeline cursor does not move along with the playback. Do you have any suggestions?
    Thanks
