Sony Vegas timer (timecode)
Posted by Lovro Stracak on March 11, 2011 at 2:21 pmHey, I need to make a timer for sony vegas or after effects that would show the numbers with my font without the black rectangle in the background (defeault timecode effect has that rectangle). So if anyone has any ideas how to fix this or knows some plugin that enables this, please help !
Thanks in advance.Mike Kujbida replied 15 years, 5 months ago 4 Members · 7 Replies -

March 11, 2011 at 2:37 pmHere’s a workaround for you.
Duplicate the video track.
Apply the timecode FX to the new event/track.
Apply the Chromakey FX to the new event/track and set the RGB vales to 0-0-0.
The black background should disappear. -

March 11, 2011 at 2:45 pmAnother way to get this is:
Simply put an extra video track above your project on
the timeline, Then you “insert” an “Empty event” and place
it on that timeline.
Now simply drop the “timecode” video fx on that empty event,
and change the “compositing mode” on that track to “subtract”.
You are now good to go.Steve Rhoden

March 11, 2011 at 2:58 pmThanks for the great idea Steve.
BTW, “subtract” gives you black numbers while “add” gives you white ones. -

March 11, 2011 at 3:58 pmYou can also drop the Sony Mask Generator FX on the empty event with the Timecode FX and that will remove the black background as well.
