Sony Vegas Timeline
Can the “frame” display in the timeline be turned off so it simply appears as a colored bar with graphic information?

Yes. View – Waveforms and Frames
That will turn off both the video frames and the audio waveforms (but I bet if you leave them on for awhile you’d miss them!)
In older versions of Vegas, this option is in Options – Preferences.

BTW, Vol 4 #2 of my newsletters explains all the View items that were moved from Options – Preferences to the View menu.
