Sony Vegas Pro 9 not holding text content upon reloading

Yes — actually when I started with Movie Studio, I set up a template in Illustrator for some Titles since the former’s text Media Generator is less advanced than that in Vegas Pro. Another workaround that is “quick & dirty”, if that’s important, is to create the text with the Media Generator then immediately render just that clip (per your project’s settings) and then replace the Media Generated clip by the rendered clip. Of course you are then still limited by the options available with the Media Generator.

I’ve been having the same copy and paste problems with Vegas 9a. Also I am not able to render mpeg4 when “2 pass” is on. In Vegas 9 I crash when viewing to my external monitor through firewire. So far my upgrade from 7 to 9 has been anything but an upgrade.

As confirmed by several users on other forums, both of these bugs were supposedly fixed with 9.0a but I guess you’re not one of those users 🙁
All I can suggest to submit a report to Sony Tech support outlining your ongoing problems in the hopes that they’ll get it right soon.

This is exactly the problem I’m having! And the Sony Tech is acting like she’s never heard of this!!! I’m about to pull my hair out in dealing with this…hopefully there’s a work-around until Sony gets around to fixing this problem!

Tom, here’s what I said to you in another thread.

To quote Colonel Potter of MASH fame, Poppycock and Balderdash!!
This is a well known bug that is being discussed at length on every Vegas forum I’m on.
Sony is aware of it and are apparently working overtime to come out with a fix for it ASAP.
All that anyone can suggest so far is to save and save often, making sure each save has a new version number on it too.
My workaround is to create my titles in Photoshop and save them in PNG format as Vegas likes those.

Hi Tom, Sony is well aware of these issues. I myself have sent two reports to Sony and they have responded to both. I think that my two reports are just a drop in the bucket as to how many reports Sony has been getting. They really messed this 9a version up good, hopefully they will fix these issues a.s.a.p. I’m back to running 9 with no upgrade. I can’t use my external monitor much at all, but at least the type doesn’t dissapear!

I apologize if that was me who recommended that. It does not help.

The only two workable alternatives I have found are either to render out the Media Generator as .avi and then bring it in as a video clip, or else generate in Photoshop, and bring it in as a .png.

So far, I prefer Photoshop.
