Sony Vegas Pro 8 or Pinnacle Studio Ultimate ver. 11
currently own (but am no longer using) Liquid Edition 5.5
I want to buy a new HD Sony AVCHD camcorder (HDRSR11).
I know the latest version of Liquid will not edit in AVCHD so my next 2 choices are Sony Vegas Pro 8 or Pinnacle Studio Ultimate ver. 11
Has anyone here used both programs and which one would be easiest to learn.
The pics I have seen of Pinnacle Ultimate 11 look close to Liquid Edition, but I am open to hear what people have to say. -

I’ve used Pinnacle from ver 6 onwards to Ver 11. I have since migrated to Sony Vegas. Pinnacle is very easy to use but you can’t compare it to Sony Vegas Pro 8. SV has a lot more powerful features that can take time to master and you won’t be sorry for learning them. The price for SV is about 3 times more expensive but worth every penny.
SV offer unlimited layers, which when you master, the masks,multiplyed layering and many more options together, will give you effects that you’d never get with Pinnacle.
My son uses Pinnacle for home vids and there is a lot of FX and transitions that you can buy.
My advice is SV Pro 8.

pricewise, as I posted on another thread, you could do the following:
you could buy full Vegas 6 from B&H for $79 then get the upgrade from sony direct for $234
is all legit. done it myself.
