Sony Vegas Pro 8 2 Big Problem
So I have Sony Vegas Pro 8. And just recently I bought a new camera (a MoviePix Video Camera if it matters) the clips I have load on as .avi (if that matters)and now, everytime I try to render my videos (usually to a .wmv, but I tried most of them) it will play the audio, but not the video. Sometimes I might get one or two random clips, top. That actually play, but the screen is just black, and I can hear the audio I have on.
What is wrong?

You need to install a motion jpeg codec on your computer
for vegas to be able to read those file formats…thats the
codec the camera uses, but is missing on your computer…

However, it doesn’t do anything. I opened it up, and saw the screen. Then I tried to render my .veg files as a .wmv, but it did the same thing. Is there some option I have to turn on. -
A quick Google search reveals that this camera shoots MPEG4. Chances of it using an MPEG4 variant that Vegas can edit are slim to none. I would start by installing any software that came with the camera. This may install the proper codec. If Vegas still can’t edit the video then you need to use some other program (like Super(c)) to convert it into a format that Vegas can edit or find an NLE that is compatible with this camera.
