Sony Vegas Pro 14 not recognizing audio files?
Hello, i have recently had a new hard disk driver installed on Acer Nitro 5. The system was reinstalled, but when i installed my copy of Vegas, it no longer recognized mp3 files. Whenever i tried to open one it crashed, whenever i tried to open my existing projects, they crashed too. Whenever i tried to import a video file with audio, it got stuck trying to create a .sfk file.
I noticed my hard drive disk had a fault that it didn’t properly process any media files, and as such Windows Media Player got stuck. I can use my external drive just fine to store those files, but there’s still the Vegas problem. I tried to look up similar problems, and apparently some component may have interfered with the installation.
Any ideas what would make Vegas work properly again?

Hi Miro
First off, try as much as possible to stay away from MP3s. It’s a lossy format. Compression can be anywhere from 75 to 90%. Not much quality there. Every time you use a compressed file, audio or video, you add to the possibility of having problems depending on you setup.
When you re-installed, did you add any outside plug-ins like K-lite Codec Pack or anything else along the same line ?
Would be nice to have a Mediainfo on one of your problematic MP3 files. Here’s the link if you don’t have Mediainfo
