[Argiris Makris] “I then moved the page file there cause it has much more free space. Sure it has nothing to do with the specific problem”

I’m sure it doesn’t have anything to do with the problem too but your partitioning makes no sense. You could have just created a fixed pagefile on your C: drive and it would have had the same effect. Partitioning a drive in 2013 makes absolutely no sense unless you are going to install another OS on it. It has no benefit whatsoever. Just sayin’.

Speaking of space… do you have enough free temp space for the Vegas installer to do it’s work? You should probably contact Sony support about this. They are the only ones who can really help you and they should help you for free since it’s an installation problem.

as a matter of fact I also have a third partition where I’ve installed linux, it’s a dual boot system 😉

Regarding partitioning, it’s a 500GB drive and I use the first partition for the OS and all critical apps and files and the second one for all the non important bulk. This way I can easily back up drive C with norton ghost, not having to backup the whole 500GB every time

I believe that in order to post in Sony forums you have to be a registered buyer, so it’s kind of catch 22

    Thanks everyone for helping

    best

Are you saying that you’re not a registered buyer? Are you using a legitimate copy of Vegas or one you “found by the side of the road”?

All you have to do to post on that forum is sign up, no purchase required.

Helloo! we are talking about the trial version here, downloaded from the official site. Do you mean that trial has to be purchased?

this is the message shown when trying to open a new topic: “In order to post messages to the forums, you must select a Forum Name and be a registered user of a Sony Creative Software product. If you own a Sony Creative Software product that is not currently associated with your account, go to the My Software page add enter your product serial number in the “Missing Products” form. Then visit your Forum Settings page to select a Forum Name.”

When I said contact Sony I meant contact Sony Technical Support. You might event want to contact Customer Service since you are a potential buyer that they’re gonna loose if you can’t install their software. Posting to the Sony forums won’t help you any more than posting here. The Sony forums are just end users like us. No technical support at all. You need Sony Technical Support to figure out why their trial installer won’t install.
