Sony Vegas Pro 12 – Preview Screen (aswell as the actual video file) is black when dragging in video files
I am desperate for help 🙁 everytime i drag a video into Sony Vegas this is what happens: https://gyazo.com/46f99d6b6b26750c060ea9c9efb23763
Is there any way to fix this? Messing around with codec’s or something? I went into preferences and turned off “Closed media files when not in active application” thing but nothing changed..
PLEASE I NEED HELP. -

What kind of video file are you using? A program called Mediainfo is available on the internet. It will tell you what type of files are used in your video file.

It’s a quicktime file. I’ve tried uninstalling quicktime and reinstalling and no luck.

Saying that it’s a QuickTime file doesn’t tell us anything as there are a variety of file types that claim to be QuickTime.
As Bob asked earlier, what does MediaInfo say about it? -

You can also open it with the QuickTiem Player and use Ctrl+I to bring up the video Inspector window and see what codec it uses. It probably uses a codec/format that Vegas Pro doesn’t support in QuickTime (like HDV).
