    Hi Everybody!

I’ve got a quick newbie question.

I’m an amateur video editor with some light experience, as a result of which, a friend of my family has asked me to produce some DVD’s for his business. I’m not sure what kind of a camera he is using, it seems like he told me it was a GoPro something or other. The files that he has given me are 720p @ 29 frames/second (According to Windows 7). They are usually around 2 hours and 20 minutes. I’m wondering what render settings would be best in Sony Vegas Pro 11 to put these on a single layer DVD in DVD Architect Pro 5.2, I want to make sure the video quality is as good as I can get it for him. Any help you guys can give would be really appreciated. Thanks for your time!!

You will want to use a Variable Bit Rate (VBR) mpeg-2 for the video file. To get the best settings download Mark’s DVD Bitrate Calculator it is available here: https://www.johncline.com/bitcalc110.zip

Learn how to use this and you will get the best quality that you can.

You will also encode your audio in Digital Dolby – AC3. There are templates for these in Vegas.
