    hey everyone,

    My name is Nicolas and I have been having a very annoying issue with sony vegas pro 11 trial version.

    So i make videos on my friends channel on youtube. So i went and found settings for youtube (Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMP1DorIheI). These work great!

    However a few days ago, i started having this problem, the rendered videos(in mp4) have no audio, even thought before rendering everything is fine. So i did the following tests:
    Rendering a fragment of the video works
    rendering a fragment of another video works
    Rendering a complete different video works but may not work afterthat
    Muting the video and rendering the audio in MP3 works
    rendering the same video in a different extension works

    could you shed some light on this issue? it’s very troublesome and im running behind my upload schedule

    Thank you in advance

    Hi;

    Just a stab in the dark, but I have heard seen vague references to problems with .mp4 audio and Vegas being caused by some bizarre interaction with newer/updated installations of Quicktime (sometimes in conjunction with iTunes updates). Have you done anything with Quicktime or iTunes on the computer in between the time it worked and when it started to fail?

    I recently had issues with VP11 and rendering, editing was fine, but I had to uninstall VP11 and all my codecs, then reinstall VP11 then I was able to render my project without incident.

    Ok, i reinstalled the latest quicktime just to be sure.
    Still no luck, here an image:

    now the 2 top tracks are UNEDITED video/audio, i just put them together and render.
    The 2 bottoms ones are the rendered video/audio of the 2top ones.

    Hi Nicolas;

    I’d like to have a look at the settings you are using for the .mp4 render. In your first post, you wrote:
    “…So i went and found settings for youtube (Here’s the link: > ” , but the link does not show up in Creative Cow.

    Please take a snapshot of the Vegas “Render As” screen where you select the codec, and then also the Custom screens, both the video tab and the audio tab, and post them for us.

    Below are examples of the default Vegas Sony AVC render – this will work for YT, even though it will produce a file that is large and not ideal for uploading. As a test, try those same settings and let us know if the rendered file has sound. Also, you mentioned that rendering with a different choice of codec worked; which one(s) have you tried that worked?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    and the tests i did were with PSP memory stick (I dont remember which 1 exactly)

    extra note: I uninstalled quicktime and i’m trying a new test: rendered the audio track in MP3(im now rendering the video in my custom format with the rendered audio)

    hey stephen,

    the last test i did was a success! The audio is there after rendering.

    thank you for your help in this matter.

    Wow … I am happy but puzzled. I logged in right now to post that I was completely baffled and to ask the Cow Brain to jump in and help, then I saw your post that it had worked!

    I hope it continues to work, but something strange is happening… if it fails again don’t give up.

    We can always try more things.

    I had the same problem, but found the checkmark on the soundpane van not set. So I created a new custom copy of the dvd setting with the sound enable. works as it should now after a few hours of banging my head against the keyboard….constructevely
