Sony Vegas Preview Device Graphics Card Issue
Hey,
Got a couple of issues with Sony Vegas on my PC, using very latest build of Pro 12 64bit.System is i7 4960x 4.7GhZ, 64GB Ram, GTX 690, Windows 8.1.
Video is stored on 2x1TB Samsung 840 SSD’s in Raid 0.
In Preferences > Video. When I enable GPU, the Preview Window when playing a video (1080p Lagarith Lossless Codec YV12 30fps) drops to 18-19fps. When I disable GPU I get 30fps. Not entirely sure what is causing this.
Also, it lets me select up to 16 rendering threads, even though this processor only has 12 I believe? 6 core with 2 threads each?
It also says next to Dynamic RAM preview MAX AVAILABLE 32GB. Does this mean Vegas is only using 32GB of the RAM available when rendering a project? I noticed After Effects uses the full 64GB, so it must be available to Vegas as well. What settings in this tab would give me the fastest possible renders? I have to use .wmv to render out the video, so there is no GPU processing available to render (and this seems to cause artefacts at least in AE).
Thanks!
Frankie
