Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum- Missing Track List
I have successfully completed a number of projects in the past, but I must have pressed a wrong key during my current project, as the Track List, and Time Display – normally shown to the extreme left on my screen , has completely disappeared !
I have tried various ‘re-settings’, without any success.
Even when I come out of Vegas Studio, and then start it up again, the Track List is still missing – before opening up ANY projects !
My current project was meant to be a surprise for my wife, for Xmas – please help !! -

Try View – Window Layouts – Default Layout

Or try to hover the mouse pointer over the left hand edge of the timeline and see if it turns into these: <-II->
If it does, then just drag to the right to ‘reveal’ the track header area.

Thanks, but I’ve tried that several times, with no luck. I’ve even tried the ‘options, Preferences, etc ‘ route – but, again, no luck.

Thanks – yes it does show that ‘sign’, but nothing happens when I try to drag it to the right. Still puzzling over it, and nothing in m y booklet from Sony – or on their ‘Help’ at the top of the screen.

Try resetting.
Close the program. Now press CTRL+SHIFT while double-clicking on the program’s icon to launch it. Continue to hold the CTRL & SHIFT keys until the program is fully up and loaded.
In newer programs, you will see a window that asks “Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?” Place a checkmark next to “Delete all cached application data” and then click Yes.
(You could also try double-clicking where you see the “sign” instead of holding down the left mouse button and dragging. OR Shift+F11)

The ‘double-click’ worked just fine – everything back now – and I should be able to complete my project in time for ‘xmas gift’ to my wife ( about her late parents ). I could not find any reference to this problem on Sony’s ‘Help’ screens – thanks so much. -

From online Help:
The track list, timeline, and window docking area sections can be sized to your preferences by dragging the dividers between them or by using F11:
F11 minimizes and restores the window docking area.
Shift+F11 minimizes and restores the track list.
Ctrl+F11 maximizes and restores the timeline vertically and horizontally (window docking area and track list will be hidden). -
I’ve made a note of those instructions, in case I need them in the future.
