Sony Vegas 11: When capturing live audio my levels are to high. Is there a way to lower the incoming signal? I am currently capturing from a sound board with levels that can’t be lowered. I need to be able to control how high/low into Vegas.

    Thanks,

    David

You need to lower the output of the source device. If you clip, or square wave the wave, you can’t fix that. There are some good external audio interfaces that can attenuate the input levels, usb and firewire.

The problem I’m having with that is the feed I’m getting is going to other recording devices as well so I don’t have (well very little) control over lowering the sending signal. I love Vegas but am a little surprised this can’t be changed by a simple input/trim level. I’m getting signal from a Digital Ilive board.

I have another issue: I am getting sound when I capture via video capture but when I try to just get audio I’m not seeing the signal.

Thanks for your time on this…
