We just bought a 64bit dual quad core PC for vegas 7. It was installed by the reseller and as seen below we are haveing problems with audio sync etc. After replacing sound cards etc. re-installing Vegas 7 and more, we went back to Sony Support and asked for help with buffer settings etc. in Vegas 7. For all intents and purposes they told us to GO POUND SAND! They refused to discuss our problem other than to say “they don’t support 64bit systems yet” They also said no-way to Vista OS as well. I don’t recall any disclaimers in any of their adds. As a footnote, I have Vegas 7 running on a 64bit Athalon system and it works fine. So, what’s up with Sony support? Is anyone else having these problems with systems and/or Sony support?

My blood pressure has returned to normal and I owe many apologies to Sony Digital Media and their staff.
Another phone call to support and a bunch of brain storming seems to have found the problem. Our project included some audio files extracted from a CD. They showed up in the audio track as WMA files. We rendered them to WAV files and that seems to have solved the erratic sync problem. Some are still out of sync but it is at least consistant. We are going through and re syncing the files and we hope that that will end our problem. We will keep you posted

    Sony Support—that’s an oxymoron.
