My Vegas 6 also worked with Windows 7 64 bit, but although it appeared to work at first with editing, etc. I eventually had problems burning audio projects directly to CD.

So I waved the white flag and ended up buying the newer 10 version and I’m glad I did, since I saw a huge performance increase (comes with both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vegas 10). The interface is also more streamlined. And it was totally worth it for only $139.99 (-$100 due to promotion).

[Ernest Lee] “So I found the name of the software that autoloaded with the FireWire PC card and went to the Windows Control Panel and removed it. When I did, both the Ulead and Sony video production programs worked fine.”

This is sad but true. Having a lot of video applications on the same computer may cause them to step on each other and cause problems. I like to keep my workstation lean and mean for just this reason. I was once having problems capturing DV tapes. There were a lot of dropped frames when it had worked fine for years. It turned out that some software I installed for a digital camera kept waking up and polling to see if the camera was plugged in and every time it woke up during a capture I would drop frames. I uninstall the program and my captures were fine again. You never know what’s going to bite you.

What a great site, however I love computers, but it’s obvious that I am oblivious, so I should continue my passion recreational outfitting. I purchased windows 7 ultimate and downloaded the version 32 bit (upgrading from vista). The reason I choose the 32 bit, because I don’t have all my software. Big mistake! I tried to download Vegas Pro 8, which I bought on ebay which only wants to run on xp or vista. I feel like the dog chasing its tail. I just can’t get it to download. Please help……………………..

eBay is full of pirated software. You can download Vegas Pro 8.0 directly from the Sony web site. It will install providing you have a legitimate license key.
