    Hi,

I’ve recently downloaded the newest update to Quicktime (7.6.6) and since then Sony Vegas hasnt recognised the file format and it has naffed me up for edited a project ive got to do.

I’ve also tried it in Adobe Premiere but with the same error message “Cannot read file format” for when i click on the .mov file.

Does anyone know how to get Vegas to wake up and say hi to the Quicktime format or is Sony Vegas lost somewhere?

    Thanks,
    Dan

I had the same problem awhile back. I had to take over a project from someone who had started it in Final Cut Pro, so all of the files were QT .mov. I downloaded the Calibrated DVCProHD codec which allowed me to view the files. https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/QDVCProHD.asp
You can download a free trial to make sure it works before paying the $69 to license it.

    Uninstall 7.6.6 and install 7.6.2
    You can find it here

    Thanks for your replys,

what i’ve done is uninstall Quicktime and Vegas 8. Then installed the previous version of Quicktime along with Vegas 9 which i found on my harddrive. It all seems to work fluently,

    Thanks very much =]
