So I’ve always used sony vegas 7. I installed windows 64 bit on my HP laptop with 4 gb of RAM, as well as installing vegas. Everythings fine, I can add clips, effects, etc, but once I hightlight stuff to render, it just crashes and says error (and gives me a huge error code) or just crashes. I’ve uninstalled and re-installed and it doesn’t work. I’ve even taken it to Geek Squad at Best Buy and they weren’t sure either. They suggested installing the newest version of vegas, so I did. Vegas 10. Buuuut, now the serial for vegas 10 won’t work or install 🙁

    Hope someone can help!

That’s right, Vegas 7 is not a fully compatible version for
Windows 7, That is why you are having the issues.
A newer version is what you need for windows 7 and using your
Vegas 7 serial will not work for Vegas 10, its not an update,
its a new version all together you have to purchase.
If you intend to continue using Vegas 7, then Windows XP is
what it needs to be running on.
