[Adrian Komorek] ” Process Version: Version 13.0 (Build 290) 64-bit”

Try updating to Build 453 and see if it works.

Because you not using the latest version of Vegas 13 optimized for
Windows 10. Download version 453 from the Sony Creative website…

I do use ver 453, and it still freezes on opening when it hits the Directx part of the start up. This last time it took 5 attempts. Froze at Directx each time and each time I had to Crl alt del and start over.

    is there a fix?

I’m guessing it’s a graphics driver problem. Try updating to the latest drivers for your card. If you are at the latest drivers, try downgrading to older drivers.

Version 453 is the last version from Magix and does not contain dolby AC Pro. If you are currently using the last version from Sony then carefully copy out the dolby pro plugin folder & copy it in to the newer V13.
More info is available on the magix vegas forum. Search missing ‘dolby pro’

Sorry, why would Dolby AC pro help with a freeze issue around DirectX initialization?

Installed ver 545 and it still freezes at Initializing DirectX.

I’m at a loss at what to do.

I seem to recall that trying to install VP13 onto W10 I had problems with the installation. Initially I gave up on VP and loaded DVDA as I normally edit in Edius. DVDA loaded and installed some .net components. On trying to install VP13 again it went in smoothly. VP13 last Sony version.

    I can understand your frustration.
