Sony Vegas 12 -Property Window Not Displaying Full Size

It looks like you changed the default font size in your version of Windows and unfortunately, Windows is broken big-time when it comes to fonts because the Microsoft SDK’s aren’t smart enough to resize the windows when the font size changes.

You need to set your windows font back to the default size. Right-click your desktop and select Screen Resolution and on the next Window that opens click on Make text and other items larger or smaller and on the next screen select 100%. Anything else will mess up all sorts of things in Windows and I don’t even know why they allow you to change the font size since they don’t honor it in their API’s.

Hi John,
Many thanks for your reply. I got excited to try out your settings. But sorry to say, my settings were already set at Smaller 100% and the problem is still there. I agree it looks like the font size is too big.
As an experiment I changed the size to 125% and went back in to Vegas and managed to get just a little bit more on the right hand side window. Then I made the text 150% which is huge but the interesting thing was there was much more of the inner properties window on display (see image)
I recently installed Vasst EventTools software(which is fantastic) and i’m into day 4 of a trial version of Vegasaur 1.92
I welcome your advice.

Wow, that usually fixes it. Perhaps it’s a graphics card driver problem? Usually change the font size fixes these problems. I really don’t know where else to look (sorry). I would contact Sony.

Hi John,

Many thanks. I appreciate your help. Been looking around the internet and came across a forum where someone had something similar with their properties box sizing in normal windows applications after uninstalling software.wonder if it has anything to do with Microsoft.net framework. I have version 4 installed and i’m sure that Vegas needed version 3.51. I recently uninstalled software that used.net framework too.
Anyway.
Will look at your suggestions regarding graphics card and see if Sony can offer any advice.

John, I’m wondering if I am the only one who has difficulty getting Sony to respond in a timely manner. My idea of “contact Sony” is to open a support ticket. Back in 2012 they took over 5 weeks to respond, and then the response was to ask me a question that, if they had just READ the statement of the problem, was clearly spelled out.

I currently have two tickets open; one for the HSL clipping/posterization and the other for the problem with Google+ & YouTube breaking “upload to youtube”. Both were created on Jan 30.

Is there a better way to report a bug?

Did you find a solution for this? I am having the exact same problem. It does this in Sony Vegas 12 and DVD Architect 6. I have tried everything but nothing seems to fix the problem.
