Hey guys im not tech smart like that but i have a question. Everytime i put a video to sony vegas from my HD PVR the video preview seems to zoomed in. Example: I put a vid from a game called gears of war. When i viewed the vid in the preview it was zoomed in too much. At the title screen where it says gears of war you can only see that and not the 3 or anything else for that matter. I tried everything I cropped the video out but it only made the vid smaller it didnt make it show more. I tried changing the project like 720×480 but it still didn’t work I tried putting that thing to best(auto) it still didn’t work. Keep n mind i record in 1080i and it says the hd pvr is like 1920×1080 so yeah

Here’s John Rofrano’s response from another thread with the same problem.

You have your preview set to Full.
Right-click on the preview window and select Scale Video to Fit Preview Window.
Alternately set your preview to Auto.
Either of these should scale the video down for you.

What version of Vegas are you using and is it Pro or Movie Studio?
Did you try the right-click method?

Do you have your project properties set to match your source video?
    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/24/936170
Go File – Properties, click the Match Media Settings icon (looks like a folder) at the top right of this window, browse to a folder containing your footage, click on any one of them, click Open (save this as a custom preset if you want) and then click OK.

To be more specific it seems like sony vegas isn;t the problem. Everytime i go to adjust the pan and crop it shows the image of the vid cut off like how it looks when its zoomed in

Can you post a screen shot of your pan/crop window settings?

Please let me reply if you know any tips, I don’t understand why it would randomly start doing this.
