    Hi all,

    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/24/944512

    Was just wondering if anyone had any solutions for the problem in the above link. I also recently tried inputting a audio file on the sony vegas on my desktop pc and got nothing, i then tried it on my laptop and it worked. The info of the audio file is below. I#m truly stumped on what the problem could be, any ideas?

    M4A : Apple iTunes AAC-LC (.M4A) Audio
    – mp42: MP4 v2 [ISO 14496-14]
    – isom: MP4 Base Media v1 [IS0 14496-12:2003]

    HI;

    Just a WAG (I don’t use iTunes out of moral principles) – could it be that the file is somehow locked because you can’t sync the same iTunes purchased song on more than 5 computers for a given Apple ID?

    Hi mate, thanks for the reply.

    Nope, not locked, have only just recently downloaded the song, so the song has only been played on one comp. There is also the issue with the video file that cannot be played on the sony vegas on my desktop pc (see link i posted in first post) but does play on my laptop. The problem most certainly is something with my desktop PC and not the files, but i have absolutely no idea what.

    Hmmm;

    Sorry for not fully reading earlier.

    Your problem smells of codec, but I know that is not much help.

    Another stab in the dark – event logs.

    Event logs: Check out both system and application – Start, Run, compmgmt.msc . Look for any errors or warnings.

    I’ve never been able to figure out if Vegas maintains it’s own log, or where it is.

    If you really want to geek out , get the SysInternals suite:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb842062
    (BTW I have not tried this for Vegas when it had a problem, kind of theoretical)
    Then Run Process Monitor. Filter for items that contain “vegas”. Save that list somehow. Then try to play the problem file and compare. Perhaps you will see something that provides a hint.
