Sony V1U field Monitor
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good field monitor for an HDV camera such as the Sony V1U? I am getting ready to put in an order for 2 of the cameras, but the field monitors I have now are only SD. Should I go LCD? Do I have much of a choice? They will mostly be used for studio productions…

Each person has an opinion what “good means.
On the low end, check out Ikan’s V8000HD 8”.
For studio monitor, I would recomend Panasonic’s BT-LH1700W or BT-LH2600W

The Panasonic’s BT-LH1700W will work as an awesome field monitor. It will run off of DC battery or AC power. It’s a little on the large side but awesome. Panasonic also makes a 9″ version of this monitor called BT-LH900W. I think the price is higher than the “17 model. Go figure…
But both will work just great.
