    Hi,

I have my Sony EX3 out on hire and have come across a problem where the connection via USB to download the SxS Cards has stopped working.

Hooking up the USB cable to the Mac and selecting connect via USB in the camera results in the camera display remaining on “USB connecting…”

You do not see the two folders appear in the finder showing both SxS cards like you usually do. All the clips are still present on the camera and viewable in the media mode so there is footage there. As we don’t have a SxS card reader the only method of transferring is via USB.

The strange thing is this method of USB transferring has been working all week and has only suddenly stopped working, There has been no changes to this work flow.

It is sounding like a problem with the cameras USB. Has anyone come across this problems before.

    Many thanks.

This is the first of any usb issues, have you tried another cable and or computer?

    Good Luck

. . . or hard booting the camera. It is a computer after all.

Just got the camera back from the hire and it looks like the USB port is damaged, the camera connects to the computer when light upwards pressure is applied to the port.

Looks like that’ll need replacing then.

    Thanks for you comments however.
