Sony Stabilize plugin – erratic – is driving me crazy !!!
I have a clip which needs stabilizing. Since it’s only part of a long footage, I create subclip.
I bring this subclip into my timeline
I add the Sony Stabilize plugin, use the default settings and Apply.
I review the event… it looks great.
I save the project, re-open it…the clip/event is erratic, jittery, worse than the original. I can recreate this at will.
What’s going on? I desperately need this for a project I’m working on.

Sounds like a bug. Why don’t you just render than section out with the stabilization applied and replace the clip with the stabilized version before you save the project (or in a separate project)?

I found others with this issue on the Sony Creative site. As you mentioned, I “rendered the clip to a new track” and am using this instead. An OK workaround.
I created a problem report on SC, we’ll see if I get a response. Last time I did I think it took three weeks to get a response. 🙁

The stabilization in sony vegas Pro 10 works better than in pro 11. I have both here, and in vegas pro 10 this issues doesn’t appears. In my opinion que simplifyed stabilization is worst than the last one.
maybe sony could let both ways to stabilize: the 10 way and the 11 way, then the user choose what prefer to use.Márcio Nascimento

That’s unfortunate. I went from v9 to v11 so I’m stuck with something that’s broken.
This was one of the features I moved to svp 11 for.

Try ask Sony support to get the a serial of version Pro 10 (If you bought the pro 11, I believe they will not oppose to give you a serial of pro 10)

I guess that could be worth the try.
However, all my current projects are in 11. So I wouldn’t be able to use it on them. Once you go to 11 on a project, from what I can tell, you can’t revert back.

yep, that’s right, but you could just use the 10 to stablize your clips, than back to pro 11. But I think it’s only a good choice if Sony give you the serial of pro 10.
