    Hi,

    I have a FCS2 running with a Kona 3 v6.01 drivers.

I seem to be able to control via RS422 an SRW5500 without any problems, but our new SRW5800 comes up with no-communication.

    Has anybody else experienced this?

    Thanks

No the deck isn’t in local, what version of software is your srw5800 running?

Could not tell you, I am traveling in the EU and the deck is in the states, I have not ever seen any updates for the 5800 that were user serviceable on any SRW deck so I have never looked.

This deck model has only been shipping for 6-8 months so I would guess most all of them are the same.

What are your specific setups for Machine / FCP / QT?

the servos will not lock when the incoming feed is NOT correct for the setup.

    Hi Gary,

I’m running a Quad Core Intel Mac Pro, FCP 6.0.3 and QT 7.4.5.

When I put the RS422 lead into a SRW5500 I get control, when the same lead is put into the srw5800, FCP says it has no communication.

    Cheers

    Rhodri

what format are you trying to layoff and how is the 5800 deck setup?

Is the frame rate and deck setting exactly the same? – have you checked?

Does your 5800 have the STDI settings initiated for deck to deck dubbing? (not on the 5500)

IF you are trying to do 1080 60p this is a different discussion all-together.
