Sony SLT a580 with Canon 6D/ 25 fps with 24fps
So I’m shooting a wedding this weekend and my third camera is a Sony SLT a580 to be used with two Canons, a 6D and Rebel T4i/650D. I’m trying to figure out the Sony’s frame rate and codec options and I’m a bit confused. It looks like it only shoots 25 fps.
According to DP Review here are the Sony video specs:“In AVCHD mode the A580 offers high quality HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p) at 25/30 frames per second (depending on whether your camera is a PAL or NTSC model), though the files are doubled up to 1080i at 50/60 fps for HDTV compatibility. If you record your videos in MPEG-4 format you can also choose a smaller VGA video size.
Sizes • AVCHD 1920 x 1080, 1080i (60/50fps), Av. 17Mbps
• MP4:1440 x 1080, 1080p (30/25fps), Av. 12Mbps
640 x 480 (30/25fps)Recordable time Approx 29 minutes (around 14 min with SteadyShot enabled)”
So if the Sony shoots 25 fps that would be a problem with Canon’s 24 fps. Could I conform it to match the Canon’s? Will it be a nightmare syncing audio? I usually use Plural Eyes.
I thought it would have either 24 or 30 fps. I know I’ve mixed 24 and 30 fps without too much problem so maybe I’m overthinking this. Any help is much appreciated.
