Thanks for the helpful and speedy responses!
I just checked my Decklink Pro card and it does HD downconverting… I am guessing that this means I can preview HD footage from FCP with my current card.
Now, I can wait until I get a new tower with PCIe slots (quad whatever later this year or next?) and just get a Kona 3 (or current version then) instead of buying a Kona 2 card now for my PCI-X dual 2.5 GHz G5!

February 24, 2006 at 8:37 pmI’d watch that downconversion on the decklink, it happens in software and won’t look that good. It might work for a preview, but not for a usable downconvert for clients or broadcast. Unless you need HD now you are doing the right thing by waiting and I have to say the Kona products are really really great.
