    Hi,

I was on a shoot the other day with one memory card and realized I couldn’t get all of the footage in HD. So I switched to SD in the afternoon. Luckily I don’t have to use any HD and SD footage together.

When I watch the raw SD files using Windows Video Player – they don’t look all that bad. However, when I put them in Adobe Premiere the quality is awful. The files are 720×480 (1.21) 29.97 fps so I assumed I should use a sequence preset for DV – NTSC, but again the quality stinks. Would I be better off using an AVCHD preset and zooming in 200% ?

Any advice as to how to best edit the SD footage as I have to deliver something. Thanks

The Premiere DV-NTSC Preset is for native .avi files. The NX5U shoots MPEG2 in SD so when it’s dropped in the timeline, it looks bad because it isn’t rendered. Edit, render, and export and the footage will look fine.
