Sony Mini DV tapes to FCP
So I’m digitising a massive archive of mini DV tapes to FCP using a Panasonic NV-DS15 camcorder.
I can log & capture fine while using TDK Mini-DV Tapes but when I try to use Sony Mini-DV Tapes FCP refuses to recognise the footage, the preview is disabled and when i ‘capture now’ it says ‘waiting for time code’.
I am still able to fast forward, rewind, play and stop the camera, but i just dont get a preview.Any ideas?

Where these tapes (Sony) recorded with a different camera? Sometimes they can be proprietary. Particularly with HD formats.
