  Sony M15U deck and FCP won’t talk!

  Hey Guys,

  I have FCP 5.0.4 and I just bought a Sony M15U HDV deck. For some reason it won’t communicate with FCP. I can get it to play okay in the capture window. But when I go to Batch Capture, it won’t read the timecode and just plays or FF on endlessly. Then gives me a timecode error.

  I have it going into my G5 via firewire (400) (in case it matters, I have a dual core, 2.3Ghz with PCI Express – I have a HUGE U320-R, 1.25 TB RAID level 0 and running off an ATTO SCSI card UL5D)

  Any thoughts? Not trying to be funny here, but Walter B. if you tell me I have to get out of HDV in post and go DVCProHD, then if I buy a Kona card, will my current RAID set-up handle this? (yes, I’ve been reading every post I can find trying to get answers)

  Okay, I’m under a major deadline here so any help is greatly appreciated!
