Hello, if anybody is on here, I’m trying to switch my Sony HVR-M1OU – deck to playback the HDV tapes I just shot in Cannes. I’m in the menu, and switched it to HDV. It keeps talking about unplugging the I-link cable. I don’t know where to find this, or if I’m setting this right. Can somebody help with a picture or step by step instructions please of Sony Deck Menu??

I’m a Producer, who edits, but not an Editor! I’ve done this before but a long time ago so I know it works! Apple G5 Final Cut Pro HD I’m using.

    Help!

    Jane

I have used the Sony HVR-M25U and in the menu there should be a option for Auto along with HDV and DV. If it’s set to Auto it will know what format you are putting into it. Also I have not seen that warning before, but an ILink cable is an input connection so you need to see what is plugged into the back of the deck. I have always gone out from the deck to the G5 via Firewire 400 or 800. Hopefully you can check your connections as the ILink is sonys name for their firewire in most cases it is a 4pin connection and is used to go out from most sony cameras into a capture device or deck. Hope this helps.
