Sony HVR-M15 and TV monitor
Hello,

Because i mostly use dv or HDV(or xdcam) this should do it for me.
Comparing the prices with others, this one cheap.
Does anyone has one? What do you think of it. How come its so much cheaper than others?I also want to buy an tv for it, use it as monitor for editing.
What specification does the television need to work proper?
I was planning to go to the local audio-video shop, but im not sure what would be best.Im not familar with all this stuff, so thats why i ask it at the pro’s here.

i am using an m10u. its slow for capturing, and it only takes mini dv tapes (its basically the camera without the imaging stuff) I would hope that the ability to handle larger tapes would mean better tape handling/response, but i do not know
there are threads here on the m25u and converters to get digital out (as opposed to analog component)

Mister T- FYI …. you’ll need a video card (Kona/Blackmagic) to monitor HDV while editing.

Very true…or a Matrox MXO.
HDV cannot be viewed as HD via firewire. With FCP 6 you can send out a downconverted DV image to see what you have, but it will look like crud. Nope, to view HDV on an HD monitor, or properly downconverted for an SD monitor, you need a Decklink or AJA card, or Matrox MXO, and then HD monitor. HD TVs will work, but not for color correction…for that you need high end HD LCDs.
or with the MXO you can hook that up to an Apple Cinema Display for proper Broadcast Quality viewing.

I checked thing out but im still am a bit confused(to much information).Does this MXO does the same thing as an Decklink or a Aja card?
I do not have an Apple cinema display, but was thinking to buy it in the future. Now i have to s*tty ones.
Can i connect any player/recorder on this?
