Sony FS700 Artifacts!!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING???
So I’ve bought the FS700 and it appears to create artifacts with some low light situations with some light sources in it, or even when there is a bright background?
Is this a common problem and if so, how can I avoid this in future shoots?
I have put up a screenshot of an example of what i have been experiencing. Take note of the candles around the pool and the artifacts created around them.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

What’s the frame rate you are shooting at?
Perhaps this is a shutter speed issue.
So if you are shooting at 24fps your shutter speed should be double at 48. If 30fps the Shutter Speed should be 60. Sometimes in low light situations we lower our shutter speed to let more light in but that can effect how an image is captured, (especially movement).
Were you shooting in Auto or Manual ? The Auto setting tends to lower the shutter speed in low light situations….

Good point you made there. I always shoot manual. I have come across another similar article stating that this is a common problem with the FS700.
When put in situations of high contrast and low shutter speeds this happens.
So now I know at least 🙂
Also this seems to disappear when shooting 4K to an external recorder.
Shot a silhouette with the sun behind it the other day recording 4K to the Q7 recorder and it came out perfectly!
