  • Sony F55 RAW EDL import form Premiere Projekt

    Hi out there,

I got an Premiere Pro CC project edited in Sony RAW from an F55.
Now trying to send the project via EDL to “Sony RAW Viewer” to set the footage for colour grading fails.
It opens the EDL, shows every clip “not linked” and no possibility to actually import the clips into the actual program.

Anyone knows what I´m doing wrong?
Any other ways to set up the Sony RAW footage?

I post in here since there is no Sony forum.

    Cheers Michael

Are you grading using the Sony raw viewer or in another system?

I plan to set up the RAW files (primary colours) with the viewer, export the files and do the grading in apples color.

    Cheers

Ok, I’m not sure why you need this extra step, I colour balance in the grading software. You could just export to dpx or pro res and use apple color or speedgrade.

If you just export the RAW File as it is, why shooting in RAW?
The cool thing about RAW is to set ISO, curves, colours (white balance) e.c. not in camera,
but in a primary grade of the RAW file.
That´s what the Sony RAW Viewer is made for.

So, anybody knows a way to handle the Adobe Premiere CC RAW footage sequence that way?
    With EDL export or else?
    Sony RAW Viewer or else?

With the new release of Premiere Pro CC (7.1, 15 october), you can open Sony raw files on native way, and with DirectLink grade it in SpeedGrade: https://blogs.adobe.com/premierepro/2013/09/adobe-premiere-pro-cc-october-2013-release.html

The older version can handle the RAW files as well. If edited it already.
Speedgrade is able to set the RAW files? (ISO, Curves, ec.)
    That would be cool!

I´ve done it with DaVinci Resolve. Works wonderfully!
