Sony F5 XAVC –> ProRes for FCP 7
I’m an AE and having a hard time figuring out the workflow for our new F5. So far we’ve just been using the iOrgSoft Video Converter for Mac and while the footage looks fine, the audio options seem to be severely limited (1 channel mono or 2 channel stereo, regardless of how we shot).
We are still running 10.6 Snow Leopard on all our machines if that makes a difference.
I’ve read over this Abelcine link too many times to count (https://blog.abelcine.com/2013/04/05/how-to-import-f5f55-footage-in-fcp-avid-and-premiere/). If I’m reading it right I can purchase the Calibrate{Q} MXF Import for Mac software and it SHOULD work. I still don’t know if it will solve the issues with getting all of our audio tracks, however.
What has been working for everyone else?

That “iOrg..” converter doesn’t looks much professional, and if is unable of dealing with the audio, is proving that is not an option for production.
