  • Sony ex1, how to back up in FCP and rendering in 1080p

    Hi there,

New to creative cow and could use some advice. I shot four scenes with Sony pmw ex1 and downloaded them by sxs card into my mac. The other scenes a camera man downloaded for me in harddrive back-up. I now want to do a rough edit in FCP express in 1080i (can’t afford FCP Studio 3), but I shot in 1080p, at 23.8fps. If I render the footage over to 1080i will I lose my 1080p forever.

Right now most of the footage is in Sony clip browser. Can I just make a copy and then send one copy over to FCP for editing. Any advise.

Finally, some of BVP clip files are there, but I no longer have the footage I shot.

    thanks dominic
