hello. I have a Sony ECM-55 which I would like to wire for Sennheiser G3 . There is a red wire, a transparent thick wire with no color but it has a paint on it, a non painted small wire and the sleeve wire. red to tip and everything else to sleeve ? Thank you

One of the remaining two wires should connect to the tip for bias current. Start with Red to tip & sleeve to ground and keep trying the other two until you get a clean signal feed, then solder in place.

I soldered red to tip and all others to sleeve like I do with Sennheiser MKE-2s and it worked fine. Actually I find it a bit more powerfull than another Sony ECM-55 I have. Could this be I still need to find that other wire for bias ? Or if it works like this I should leave it ok ? and should I solder ring to sleeve for grounding ? Thank you for your answer !
