    Hi, new here.
So, I have downloaded the trial versions of vegas movie studio HD 11 and that came with DVD architect studio 5.0. I went to create a short DVD (only around 5 minutes long to see how it goes) and the movie studio “publishes” the video and audio seperatly into a folder which the DVDA then picks up. hawever, it output the audio into a ac3 file format and the DVDA refuses to recognise this file always saying the file type is unsupported yet in movie studio, it is the only type I can output it as.
I was just wondering, do I have to download an audio convertor from a third party website to fix this or is it only a problem with the trial versions that will be fixed when I buy it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Michael.

Out of curiosity, have you tried rendering your audio separately? That is, in your project just render to an AC3 file? The video should be ignored.

In any version of Vegas Pro one can do this, but not sure about Movie Studio 11.

Thanks for that. Tried that and it did get me past this problem rendering it as a wma. now when i select burn though, it stops halfway through rendering and complains again of an usupported file type but now doesn’t tell me what the file is (audio or video.)

    Will try some other formats.

If you are burning to a DVD for DVD mpeg2 playback, you need to burn the audio separately as an AC3.

What I do in Vegas Pro is I select all the audio tracks for rendering, and then render out to the AC3 format.

    Good luck!

Finally got it! i can still publish the video (audio included) from vegas as a DVD architect studio format and it works fine. I had to go through DVDA’s settings to find the burn options and change the type of audio file it uses to burn which was pre-set to ac3. I changed this to the other option avaliable (not sure now what it was) and then it would burn the DVD perfectly.

Problem seems to be my copy of DVDA does not support ac3 format even though it is only itself telling itself to use it for burning. Made a dvd now so quite happy.

Thanks for all the help and time people it did help. Made me start filing through all the settings hidden in weird places…
