Have just installed Sony Vegas Platinum 11 and DVD Architect. Vegas works fine (apart from crashing often especially when using Light Rays) but that’s NOT the problem.
Problem is that although DVD Architect is all installed it will NOT open. Tried “run as administrator” Re-installed Video drivers. Will NOT open:
    Running
    Windows 7 SP 1
    Radeon HD6950 2GB
    Intel Core i5 2500K
    Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 MBoard
    8 gig RAM

So this gear should not give any problems but it WILL NOT open

    Any thoughts please?

    Need a little more info.

What action are you taking to open it? Try every option possible: Double-click the desktop icon (if you created one), run from the start menu, double-click the EXE in Windows Explorer, use the Run command and browse to the EXE (this would have the same result as previous suggestion, but worth a shot).

Exactly what does happen when you try to run it? I assume there’s no error message? Do you get Windows’ “timer” icon (hourglass in some versions, rotating circle in others) and then nothing?

After you attempt to run it and it doesn’t start, press Ctl+Alt+Del and open the Task Manager: Is DVD Architect listed in the Applications? Is the executable (dvdarchitectstudio.exe or similar) listed on the Processes tab? Sometimes a program is “running,” but with a problem so that it doesn’t actually open. If this is the case, select it in the list and hit the End Process button. Then try running DVD Architect Studio again.

Last but not least, are you running the most current build of DVD Architect Studio? Check sonycreativesofare.com for the most current one.

    Hi Rob thanks for that.
I finally found out why it happens !!!!!..

It is a built in anti piracy thingy. When you download the trial version and IF you uninstall it and try to re-install it again it will not allow you to. My purchased version finally arrived and I uninstalled download and re-installed from disk with the registration code and it works fine 🙂

Sony Vegas in Melbourne Australia is VERY good they realised what had happened and also gave me a hand. On the phone would you believe !!!. I must say that I am SO happy with the choice I made as the backup is astounding. Make a phone call and ENGLISH speaking help is there and very competent and friendly help as well. Also program is fantastic.

Hope this helps others at some time.

Weird. I’d think it would at least pop up a message saying your trial has run out. Oh well, glad you got it worked out. Enjoy your new toy. 😉
